WE BUILD
Imagine a school…
where you graduate, not only with a high school diploma, but also with the ability to read and interpret a full set of construction site plans, multiple industry credentials, and a deep knowledge of how to build. A school where you work collaboratively each year with other students, building with with your hands, and designing with your mind. Imagine participating in practical internships, gaining real-world experience, developing real world connections and networks, and training on the same equipment that professionals use every day. This is the school we are building.
The Forge School is all about building…
a school that meets the needs of all students and cares deeply about their present and future outcomes. We are committed to supporting students beyond graduation, ensuring they are in post-secondary programs or careers that lead to an average salary of $75,000 or more. Our goal is for students not only to build wealth for themselves, but to uplift and invest in their families and community—while committing to grow Nashville.
Our commitments
Career-Connected Learning
At The Forge School, every class—even core subjects—will be linked to the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering. We are committed to aligning our curriculum with the needs of the business community, ensuring that students see the clear connections between their education and future career opportunities.
Durable Skills Focused
At The Forge School, we prioritize building the “soft” skills that are critical in today’s workforce—what we call “durable skills.” These include character, collaboration, leadership, and critical thinking. These are the skills essential for success both in school today and in the workplace of tomorrow.
Project-based learning
At The Forge School, students will engage in individual and group projects each year, learning the technical skills of architecture, construction, and engineering, as well as the durable skills of creativity, collaboration, and communication. From building with LEGO to constructing actual structures, students will take part in meaningful projects that apply their learning and expand their understanding of what is possible.
Deep community
The Forge School is deeply committed to mentorship, community, and belonging. Every 6th grader will be paired with a high school mentor throughout their middle school years, giving high school students the opportunity to learn how to support and build up younger students. By the time our students reach senior year, they will train freshmen on how to be great mentors while being mentored by professionals in their chosen fields. Together, we will build a strong community based on mutual respect and pride in our work and our school that will support The Forge School graduates to be respected advisors and leaders in their futures.
